About us
The Melbourne Romance Writers Guild was founded in November 1990 by a group of like-minded writers and has flourished over the years with members ranging from novice to the multi-published. We meet once a month to talk all things romance writing.
The Melbourne Romance Writers Guild is the sum of its members and the mission of each member is to inform, educate and support romance writers through their writing journey to publication and beyond. This includes providing moral support, learning about the industry and motivating members.
Many of our members are published (both traditionally and self-published) and we can boast of many competition and publishing successes.
Our annual retreat is extremely popular. A weekend of writing, talking, and fun . Often are lucky enough to have a fabulous 'guest speaker' to inspire and motivate us - past speakers include Anna Campbell, Stephanie London, Annie West and Rachel Bailey and Amy Andrews. this year (2025) we had the company of the fabulous Shannon Curtis!
