Potential members can attend meetings on a trial basis – paying a nominal fee - where they will be expected to participate in discussions, workshops and critique sessions. After a few meetings – and to everyone’s agreement – the new member can become a full member by paying the annual fee of $55.00.

MEETING TIMES:

Third Sunday of each month, except December, which is the second Sunday. (Christmas party). We don't accept first-time potential members on this date. 

Our meetings are held at the Fitzroy Library, Moor Street, Fitzroy,  and run from 11.00am to 4.00pm.

Discussion of market and competition news.
Achievements Members’ accomplishments for the prior month (and the lovely reward of chocolate!)
Member's goals assessed/revisited, market news and motivation shared.
Ten minute workshop.
Then lunch, followed by a Critique session, brainstorming and/or a workshop.

Next month there will be market news, writing goals and chocolate. Margaret Midwood will present a mini-workshop on Writing Transitions. In the afternoon multi-published author and member Charlie Kramer will present her Dialogue Workshop.

April 15, is our Annual General Meeting. Could all members please attend, to vote in the new committee and assist in keeping The Melbourne Romance Writers' Guild the fantastic group it is!

Cara Gabriel will be sharing her writing synopsis genius with us when she presents her Writing Synopsis Workshop. We all need to conquer the synopsis, for editors and publishers it’s our selling tool.

In July we have a workshop by multi-published Author Anne Gracie, an amazing lady who is not only a talent writer but also an inspiring and informative speaker. It will be one not to miss.

In the next few months we have a time management workshop tailored to the writer and the procrastinator in us all. Date and details to be confirmed.
