The Melbourne Romance Writers Guild was founded in November 1990 by a group of like-minded writers and has flourished over the years. It currently has over 30 members ranging from novices to the multi-published in a number of genres and it is dedicated to supporting and encouraging members in their writing journey.
The MRWG’s mission is to inform, educate and support romance writers from the moment when the urge to write romance first emerges through to being an established, published author and beyond. This includes learning about the industry, developing craft and skill, providing moral support through the rejections as well as the acceptances and motivating our members to write and submit.
The Melbourne Romance Writers Guild is the largest face to face romance writing/critique group in Australia and in November 2010 celebrated its 20th anniversary. While many of our members are focused on the romance genre (contemporary, historical, paranormal), some of our authors write other genres/types of writing including Young Adult and magazine articles.
