Mention the word 'synopsis' to any writer and it's 99.9% guaranteed that you'll get reactions varying from a simple eye-roll to a profanity-filled tirade. It's no-one's favourite thing and the cause of much angst, hair-pulling and sudden urges to spring clean the house, garage and dog kennel.
